LL/AEC Rogues Gallery: The Seekers Of Bexia

Wherein your humble scribe presents what might be an Adventuring Party for Labyrinth Lord/Advanced Edition Companion. These characters are all 1st level, were granted maximum HP (Advanced Style), and have a bare minimum of equipment. They were all created with 3d6 for stats, more often than not in order. And, as is now commonplace, they all have some snappy headgear.

On the dark and heavily-forested island called Bexia, small, poorly-fortified human settlements crouch in the shadows, fearful of the malevolent elves of the woods. To one of these, called Eorus by those who lived there, came Destrand, an eerie boy of scant years, bearing tales of silver palaces, lost cities, amber castles, and a mountain of fire – all just beyond the great River Orv. His unearthly words seeped into the consciousness of the town and soon a number of foolhardy souls determined to set out in search of these unimagined sights and the treasures the boy claimed were hidden within. Furthanos, Acolyte of Albinard the True. Savara the Witch, with her toad familiar Uvyn. Ox-like Surt, the blacksmith’s son. And Normac Finwyr, the ninth incarnation of Jagragon’s chosen prophet. These four set out with the strange child on the Eve of Evangeline and were ne’er seen in Eorus again.

And, as is now commonplace, they all have some snappy headgear.

Well met in Mujzhad, the members of this colorful company of adventurers come from the various lands to the east of The City of Spices, where non-human races seldom travel. The story of their first encounter with a band of dwarven merchants in the central souq quickly became an oft-requested tale popular amongst the storytellers who travel with the caravans that cross the deserts of the East. Following the map given to them by a strange beggar in the streets of Omaq, the Mujzhad’arin Five are now headed deep into the Western steppes in search of the lost vault of Uvisorg Vaba, the Dark Alchemist of Mredvechla.

Traveller: The FitzLogan Gang

Wherein your humble scribe presents a group of characters for (classic) Traveller. All of these were rolled up by-the-book from Book 1: Characters And Combat and/or Supplement 4: Citizens of the Imperium.

For years Logan “Fitz” FitzLogan was one of the more notorious con men in the Claybourne Subsector, but he’s been straight ever since his last conviction was overturned due to technical issues surrounding the case. He was last seen traveling in the company of a couple of lovely graduate students and a retired Army Major with a thing for guns, but the Alliance Patrol keeps losing their tracer on him somehow. Surely that’s just a coincidence.

LL/AEC Rogues Gallery PDF Download

In case you haven’t noticed the Downloads page I added a couple of days ago, take a look up there at the end of the navigation bar and click. This is the page I’ll use for corralling the various PDFs that I occasionally put together out of blog material and other sources.

To help launch this section of the site officially (the unofficial launch came with the release of G-Man’s adventure for Barbarians of Lemuria) I’ve gone and made a PDF of the project I’ve been poking at off an on for a year now.

This PDF contains only the “by class” entries and not the “adventuring parties” I’ve done. If I do enough parties I’ll put together a PDF for those on their own. I may also decide to do another batch of “by class” entries for higher level NPCs. But for now, here’s your chance to snag a bunch of first level mooks in one handy volume.

Now maybe I can get myself off this rock my creativity seems to have run aground upon and produce something new within a couple of days 🙂

Traveller: Baron Furnols’ Retinue

Wherein your humble scribe presents a group of characters for (classic) Traveller. All of these were rolled up by-the-book from Book 1: Characters And Combat and/or Supplement 4: Citizens of the Imperium.

Bored to tears in the Claybourne Subsector, Baron Ignasi Ot Furnols and his latest group of playthings, er, friends, have found themselves on Albian with little to do but wait for the next liner headed somewhere interesting. But wait! It turns out there’s a branch of the Psionics Institute operating here, and on a whim the Baron himself funds everyone’s training. This should make life a but more interesting for those who come into contact with this particular entourage…

LL/AEC Rogues Gallery: The Fugitives Of Darlsfort

Wherein your humble scribe presents what might be an Adventuring Party for Labyrinth Lord/Advanced Edition Companion. These characters are all 1st level, were granted maximum HP (Advanced Style), and have a bare minimum of equipment. They were all created with 3d6 for stats, more often than not in order. And, as is now commonplace, they all have some snappy headgear.

Fleeing the frontier city of Darlsfort the night before an onslaught of goblinoid forces led by the evil sorceress Xeriaven, this group of young adventurers are ill-prepared for the challenges that await them in the dungeons and wildernesses they must traverse before they can hope to reach a new place to call home. Bickering, bitter recriminations and quite possibly brutal death await them on their journey.

Will Mad Piotr drag them all down with his unpredictable behavior? Will the pompous know-it-all Hagidox alienate himself from the safety of the group with his lectures and constant upbraiding? Will Sylmira grow weary of her childish companions and leave them to their fates if the opportunity presents itself? And what of the self-centered thief Rallen Pangkit? Are any safe when his turn to stand watch comes up? Only Mats Taldinson, dimwitted priest of Balder, has any chance of holding this loosely-knit group together long enough to navigate their way to a new life.

These characters are all 1st level, were granted maximum HP (advanced style), and have a bare minimum of equipment. They were all created with 3d6 for stats, more often than not in order.

Driven out of the gloomy seaside town of his birth by the superstitious village elders, Jerald Istholam wandered southward along the rocky coastline of Nogoloth, pausing too often to stare out at the grey and moody sea that seemed to beckon to him darkly. Drawing upon the last reserves of his strength he turned away from the whispering waves and headed inland, intent upon making his way to the great city of Khaarm. There, amid the wisest sages and holiest priests, he would find the answers to the eldritch riddle of his lineage. Along the road to his ultimate fate he would befriend others whose very natures made them unwelcome in the petty and inconsequential civilization cobbled together by those sad creatures known as “men.”

Riding out of the frozen north, each upon his own sleigh drawn by a distinct pair of reindeer, this fearsome quartet of Winter Elves makes annual raids on the villages of men, always on the day when the sun shines least. Some of the victimized villagers leave items of tribute beneath lighted trees to keep the elves from ransacking their homes. Others use snow to construct “guardsmen” on their lawns in an effort to frighten the elves away. Still others leave freshly baked – and freshly poisoned – pies and cakes at their doors in the hope of ridding themselves of the elves once and for all. Legend foretells the coming of a hero – a saint dressed in red, with alabaster hair and eyes that twinkle – who will bring these fiends to heel. Could this be the year the people are saved?

Traveller: The Crew Of The Free Trader Nobuharu

Wherein, in honor of the currently still free (through December 31st) classic Traveller Starter Edition, your humble scribe presents a group of characters for (classic) Traveller. All of these were rolled up by-the-book using said Starter Edition.

Working their way through the Claybourne Subsector, the crew of the Free Trader Nobuharu – brainiacs all – have found themselves a bit short on this month’s payment. Not wanting to lose possession of the one thing that sets them apart from the rest of the rabble, these streetwise geniuses have stumbled upon the Governor of Posada’s need to have a trio of “embarrassing” individuals escorted “elsewhere” in the subsector. The ladies in question don’t seem particularly difficult to deal with, and their high passages – as well as a generous “discretion bonus” – have been paid for in cash. What could possibly go wrong?

Traveller: The Cat Is In The Bag

Wherein your humble scribe presents a group of three characters for (classic) Traveller. All of these were rolled up by-the-book from Book 1: Characters And Combat.

Kicking around the ‘roids of Emental in the Claybourne Subsector after mustering out, this group of relative striplings are in desperate need of a patron. But what can an army sawbones, the troubled young woman he got booted from the service for, a jarhead grease monkey, and brainy ex-scout do to earn an honest living?

Well, there was that fancy guy at the starport casino, talking about needing help recapturing the grex panthera (or whatever he called it) that had gotten loose from its enclosure at his villa. That didn’t sound too difficult. Sam and Roy should be able to figure out the best way to tranquilize the thing, and Allan can certainly solomani-rig some kind of trap if need be. And Noemi? Well, maybe she can keep that sissy noble company by showing him just how grunts play cards. Really, what could possibly go wrong?
