I enjoyed the PDF very much, but I have yet to find a BRP ruleset that’s lite enough for me to GM. Playing Magic World is something I’d do in a shot, though.

I hear where you’re coming from, Rob. But I’d suggest giving running MW a try sometime if you get a hankering. BRP can actually be quite easy to run an MW (given its Elric!-y heritage) is dead simple. With no hit locations and pretty straight-forward combat in general, it’s probably the lightest BRP you can get.

That said, I can definitely understand if that’s still not to your tastes. So feel free to ignore me 🙂

I’m wondering if OpenQuest 2 will work better for my brain set-up. It looks like Newt has put in a lot of newbie handholding stuff that wasn’t in OpenQuest 1.

It’s certainly a possibility. Newt does good work for sure. I admit that I haven’t paid any attention to OQ2, though, so I’m being something of an uninformed optimist here. But if anyone is likely to pull it off, I believe Newt’s the guy. Fingers crossed!
