A New Sword Album Coming In The Fall!

Great news about Strange Stones’ fav-o-rite metal band (and fellow Austinites) The Sword:

The Sword has signed a new, multi-album worldwide deal with New York City based label, Razor & Tie. After releasing three critically acclaimed albums on Kemado Records, the Austin TX based quartet featuring guitarist/vocalist J.D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie, and new drummer Santiago “Jimmy” Vela III will commence recording their fourth album in late June with a projected release date of fall 2012.

The new studio album will be supported by extensive global touring that will stretch well into 2013.

Read the whole press release at the Razor & Tie website.

Here’s to hoping the next album is at least as awesome as the three that have come before it! And once this drops, be sure to catch ’em on tour when they come through your town. They put on one hell of a show.

Now here’s some vintage Sword to keep your axe sharp…

    Cool!

You think it will be another concept album? I love the way they’ve reinvigorated that form…

I haven’t heard anything beyond the announcement, but I’m certainly hoping for another concept album. They’s tasty!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that The Sword is playing Austin on 4/21 and I’m going (neener!). I’ll be sure to report back if they play (or even mention) anything new. I’m hoping I get lucky and there’s some kind of debut of new material. ‘Cos that would just rock!

Neener, indeed! Well, let me know. core some phone footage if you can.

By the way, the BoL Gameslate is about a third done. Finished coding the front end of the Player’s Suite the other day and just waiting on Ryan to finish the backend.

I’m starting on the rulebook next week and then I’m thinking of releasing it with the GM Suite to be added shortly thereafter, just so I can ‘plant a flag’ in a manner of speaking, and get some money rolling in.

I’ll do what I can, amigo. And I’ve now heard at least a little chatter suggesting that some new songs will indeed be played. This could be good!

Good news on the Gameslate! I can’t wait to see this puppy in action!
