Recovering From A Hack

No, this isn’t about healing in RPGs. This is about the fact that Strange Stones got hacked a while back and I think I’ve just finished fixing everything. You probably hadn’t noticed, because it was a hack that was designed not to be noticed. But everything should be back to the way I want it to be. I’m actually only mentioning this so that if something seems amiss (like links that aren’t working, etc.) you’ll know what’s up.

So, if you do happen to see something that’s not behaving properly, let me know and I’ll get it fixed. In the meantime, please continue to enjoy whatever it is you happen to enjoy about my humble little blog. Cheers!

Thanks, Narmer. It was more annoying than damaging (thankfully), but the easiest way to deal with it was to blow everything away and restore from a backup. Even then I’m not 100% sure things are all fixed yet, alas.

People who try to hack and piggyback on other sites to drive the search rankings for their shady pharma or mortgage sites really ought to be horsewhipped.

Sorry to hear that as well. I have had attempts and change my password from time to time, but still, there are sometimes odd things, like people hitting every link for a month 9which is probably someone copying my drek for some reason). Anyway, I hope you have it all cleared up.

Thanks, bat. The internet is a nefarious place sometimes, I’m afraid. And if anyone copies your drek awesome content to try to make a profit, I’ll stab ’em in the face with my fist. For it is a little know fact that I possess razor fists of internet jusitice 🙂

Rock on! Oh, and keep busting out the awesome sci fi content at A Thousand Psychic Wars on top of the usual awesomeness at Ancient Vaults, you unstoppable genius, you!
